About us

Welcome to Calvary Church !

What a joy it is to introduce you to our church! You’ll discover that our passion is to provide a place where people just like you can have a life-changing experience with God. At Calvary Church, our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. We admit we need God and each other to fulfil our God given destinies. Come as you are and enjoy our powerful worship services that offer biblical truth in creative and practical ways.

But it won’t take you long to discover that we’re more than just a Sunday church. We’re striving to become the kind of church described in the Bible, where there’s down to earth teaching, heart-felt worship, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. In short, we’d like to have the kind of contagious Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community, one life at a time.

So whether you’re a spiritual seeker who’s just starting to ask questions about God, or a committed Christian who wants to use your gifts in earning the souls for Christ, you can find a home here at Calvary Church.

God bless you,
Rev. O.DEVA PRASANNA

Our Belief

  • We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired of God and are inerrant.
  • We believe that God not only inspired his Word but preserved it, and that the 1611 King James Version of the Bible is the preserved Word of God for us.
II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21
  • We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, equal in essence, while distinct in personality and function.
    Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6
  • We believe that God created the heaven and the earth, according to the Genesis account of creation.
    Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3
  • We believe that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary, a virgin, and is the God-man.
    John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 7:14; Galatians 4:4
  • We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died as the substitutionary sacrifice for all men and that His blood atonement is unlimited in its power to save.
    Isaiah 53:4-11; II Cor. 5:14-21; John 3:5-8; I John 2:1-2; II Peter 2:1; I Timothy 4:10
  • We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, in His ascension into Heaven, and in His position there as High Priest and Advocate.
    Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 1:8-11; I Cor. 15:4-9; Hebrews 4:14-16
  • We believe that man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but spiritual death which is separation from God, and that death passed upon all men.
    Genesis 1:26-27; 3:1-6; Romans 5:12, 19; 3:10-13; Titus 1:15-16
  • We believe that all who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again into the family of God.
    John 1:12-13; 3:3-16; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit is the agent of the new birth through conviction and regeneration and that He seals, indwells, and baptizes every believer into the body of Christ at the moment of conversion. We believe that the Holy Spirit fills, empowers, and distributes service gifts to believers, but that sign gifts were restricted to the Apostolic Age.
    Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; Colossians 1:16-17; Hebrews 11:3
  • We believe in the eternal security of the believer, that one who is saved is kept forever by the power of God.
    John 6:39, 49; 10:28-29; Romans 8:35-39
  • We believe in “that blessed hope”—the personal, pre-millennial, pre-tribulational and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
    Titus 2:13; John 14:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; I Cor. 15:51-58; II Thessalonians 2:1-13
  • We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting blessedness of the saved, and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
    Matthew 25:31-46; Luke 16:19-31; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 21:1-8
  • We believe that the local church is the agency through which God has chosen to accomplish his work in the world. A New Testament Baptist church is an organized body of believers, immersed upon a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, having two offices (pastor and deacon), congregational in polity, autonomous in nature, and banded together for work, worship, edification, the observance of ordinances, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
    Acts 2:41-47; Ephesians 3:10; Matthew 28:18-20; I Timothy 3; I Peter 5:1-3; Ephesians 1:22; Romans 16:17
  • We believe that the scriptural ordinances of the church are baptism and the Lord’s Supper; that baptism by immersion is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that the Lord’s Supper should be partaken of by baptized believers, who have acted in obedience to Christ’s command, to show forth His death “till He come.”
    Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:41-47; 8:26-39; I Corinthians 11:26

Our Vision

To lead people in the knowledge of Lord Jesus Christ, through his love. This is of two-fold; firstly, to guide non-Christians to find salvation in Jesus Christ and secondly, to support and encourage nominal Christians to fully commit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Our church vision broadly…:

  • Spiritual Growth and Discipleship: To foster a vibrant spiritual life among its members through worship, teaching, and personal growth.
  • Community Engagement, Charity and Service: To actively serve and engage with the local community, addressing social needs and demonstrating Christ’s love through action.
  • Evangelism and Outreach: To share the message of Jesus Christ both locally and globally, reaching out to those who have not yet heard the gospel.
  • Unity and Fellowship: To build a strong, supportive community where members are encouraged and equipped to live out their faith in their daily lives.
  • Empowerment and Leadership Development: To nurture and develop leaders who can guide and inspire others within and beyond the church community.
  • Worship and Praise: To create an environment where worship and praise are central, reflecting the reverence and honor due to God.
  • Education and Formation: To provide resources and opportunities for theological education and spiritual formation for all ages.

Our Mission

At Calvary Mission, we are driven by Jesus’ Great Commission in Matthew 28:18–20 (KJV), where He commands us to “go and make disciples of all nations.”

A disciple is someone fully committed to following Jesus—spending time with Him, learning from Him, and growing by reflecting His character in daily life.

Our mission is to lead individuals on this transformative journey, equipping them to become faithful disciples who, in turn, disciple others—spreading the love, truth, and hope of Jesus Christ both near and far.
